“Especially in the last couple years there has been a lot of talk about religious freedom. As Christians we desire to have the freedom to preach the gospel and to worship the triune God of the Bible. However, religious freedom also means that those outside of the Christianity are free to worship their gods even if they are false. So, as Christians should we support religious freedom or fight for Christianity to be the only protected religion. Does defending everyone’s rights open the way for Satan to have a foothold or does it open the door for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to spread? Hopefully this article is helpful as you wrestle with those questions.”
From the article:
“Years ago, a pastor told me that religious freedom is essentially the affirmation of the words of the Serpent, “Ye shall not surely die” (Gen. 3:4). To grant religious freedom for false religions, this person contended, is the equivalent of allowing the prophets of Baal have a place of their own on Mount Carmel.”
